Advance Kingscote is pleased to announce that its silo mural project is now fully funded, after it was successful in gaining a grant from the Federal Government tourism package.

Additional funding has also been secured from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal, as well as other community sources, including the Wongan Ballidu & District Menshed in WA, as well as sponsorship from SeaLink.

Renowned mural artist, Cam Scale, has been commissioned and it is hoped that the silo can be completed in time for the 2021/2022 summer tourist season.

It is expected that the painting will take about five weeks to complete, after which there will be giant glossy black cockatoos and kangaroos overlooking the entrance to Kingscote.

Silo art is a proven visitor attraction around Australia and the mural project is part of Advance Kingscote Progress Association's wider "Ignite Kingscote through Art" project that has seen murals painted around town.
